ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif on Wednesday said that local bodies elections would help strengthen democratic system of the country.
Transferring the powers to local representatives would bring improvement in the system, he said while talking to a private television channel.
In reply to a question, he said, there is a need to hold local government elections on time.
Commenting on relations with neighboring countries, he said, Afghan soil should not be used against Pakistan for spreading terrorism, adding that India should address the core issue of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir through international resolution.
To a question, he said that Pakistan’s participation in Gaza Board of Peace would help resolve the problems of Palestinian people.
