LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Punjab Assembly has passed a resolution seeking a ban on Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan, accusing him and his party leadership of working against national stability and state interests.

The resolution was moved by PML-N lawmaker Tahir Parvez during the provincial assembly session and was adopted by the house.

The resolution called for strict action against individuals and political groups allegedly involved in activities threatening the country’s integrity and stability. It also urged punishment for those accused of promoting unrest and making statements considered harmful to national security.

The resolution stated that anyone, regardless of political or non-political affiliation, found acting against state interests should face legal action under existing laws.

The House also paid tribute to state institutions, youth and leadership for their role in safeguarding national stability and security.
