RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – General Sir Charles Roland Vincent Walker, Chief of the General Staff (CGS) of the United Kingdom Army, met Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday.
During the meeting, both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security dynamics and opportunities to further deepen bilateral defence cooperation. They underscored the importance of sustained collaboration to promote peace and stability across the region.
The discussions reflected the shared resolve of both armies to strengthen strategic communication and continue their coordination in addressing emerging security challenges. The two sides reiterated that military-to-military engagement remains a vital component of fostering mutual understanding and stability in South Asia and beyond.

General Walker acknowledged Pakistan Army’s enduring contributions to global peacekeeping and its pivotal role in combating terrorism. He appreciated the sacrifices made by Pakistani forces in their counterterrorism operations and lauded their commitment to ensuring regional harmony.
Earlier, upon his arrival at GHQ, the visiting UK Chief laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada to honour the martyrs who sacrificed their lives in the service of the nation. He was later presented with a guard of honour by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
The visit marked another chapter in the long-standing partnership between the Pakistan and United Kingdom armed forces, reaffirming both sides’ commitment to continued dialogue and defence cooperation.
