Assures teams on the ground working round the clock to serve those affected by flood
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Tuesday said that the provincial government is turning all its resources toward helping people hit hard by the recent floods.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, she stressed that the province is carrying out the “largest-ever rescue and relief operation in Punjab’s history” after three major rivers overflowed, creating an unprecedented situation. “Our teams are on the ground, working round the clock to serve the flood victims,” she assured.
Maryam Nawaz added that a proper mechanism has been set up to keep an eye on the changing flood situation, with PDMA officials, district administrations, and rescue workers out in the field.

On her instructions, more than 6,000 tents and rescue boats have already been sent to affected areas, particularly in southern Punjab.
Relief camps have been stocked with clean drinking water, fumigation against infectious diseases is under way, and mosquito-control sprays are being carried out in tent cities.
Teams under the “Clean Punjab” initiative have also been pressed into service to keep camps neat and tidy, while health and livestock counters are manned round the clock.
