LAHORE (Dunya News) – PML-N leader and Adviser to the Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday said that opposition members contacted him and offered to vote for him, adding that PTI’s boycott reflects a lack of trust in its own members.

Speaking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly, the adviser said that PTI’s attitude is undemocratic and unpolitical. He stated that the PTI founder and his blind followers only seek chaos, discord, and unrest. “It is not just the government or institutions, but the entire nation that should stop them. PTI has no option left except to escape,” he said.

He revealed that 10 to 12 PTI members contacted him, offering to vote for him, but he told them not to vote for him and instead support their own candidate.

He further said that PTI adopted a policy of abuse culture, instructing its members to insult opponents. “The PTI founder has the distinction of perhaps being the first leader in history to formally adopt the culture of ‘oye, tu oye’ as policy,” he remarked.

He said PTI forced its members to call their opponents “thieves” as a policy. “If they adopt political behavior, we are ready for politics. The Prime Minister himself went to the opposition and invited them for talks. Politics always moves forward through dialogue, not deadlock. They used to say no NRO will be given and the establishment will not allow talks, but the reality is that dialogue is the only way forward.”

He added that when the country faced external threats, the PTI founder was unwilling to listen. The success of that crucial battle was only possible due to consensus between political and military leadership, which was seen for the first time in Pakistan’s history.

The adviser to the PM also condemned the incident involving Aleema Khan, saying that the PTI founder is in jail and receiving his due rights. “Our grievance with PTI is that it has formally adopted the culture of misconduct as its policy,” he said.

It is worth mentioning that a by-election is being held today for the Senate seat left vacant after PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry’s disqualification, while the opposition has announced a boycott of voting.
