ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Iranian Interior Minister, Brigadier General Eskandar Momeni, held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, extending heartfelt condolences and offering assistance following the devastating floods in parts of Pakistan.

The Iranian minister expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, caused by torrential rains and flash floods.

He conveyed his sympathies to the families of the deceased, offering prayers for patience and strength, and assured Pakistan of Iran’s readiness to provide all possible support in this time of need.

Describing Pakistan as a "brotherly neighbor," Minister Momeni said Iran stands in solidarity with the people of Pakistan and is prepared to help in every possible way. “It is heartbreaking to witness the destruction and the separation of hundreds from their loved ones,” he said. “We are with the people of Pakistan, shoulder to shoulder.”

In response, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart for the gesture of solidarity and the offer of assistance. He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan share their joys and sorrows alike.

Naqvi also noted that climate change is now posing unprecedented challenges in Pakistan, with the country experiencing severe weather conditions never seen before.

He added that all state institutions are actively working in the field to provide relief and support to flood-affected communities, and their rehabilitation remains the top priority.
