Summary 91 cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed ceremonial duties at the Mazar-e-Quaid
LAHORE/KARACHI (Dunya News) - On Pakistan’s 78th Independence Day, dignified guard change ceremonies were held at the mausoleums of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi and Allama Iqbal in Lahore.
The day began with a 21-gun salute across the country, followed by special prayers at Fajr for national progress, unity, peace, and prosperity.
At the Mazar-e-Quaid, 91 cadets from the Pakistan Naval Academy assumed ceremonial duties, replacing the outgoing guards. The new guard comprised two contingents — Pakistan Navy sailors and cadets — including four female cadets. After the ceremony, chief guest Commodore Tasawar Iqbal offered Fateha and recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book.
In Lahore, a similar ceremony took place at the Mazar-e-Iqbal, where a contingent of Punjab Rangers handed over duties to the Pakistan Army.
