GENEVA (Dunya News) - Pakistan’s representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar, strongly condemned Israel’s plan to occupy Gaza.

Addressing an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council following Israel’s announcement of its intent to occupy Gaza, Asim Iftikhar said that Israeli attacks are displacing millions of Palestinians, and these actions are a clear violation of the Geneva Convention.

He highlighted that Gaza is facing a severe food crisis, with Palestinians being fired upon while attempting to obtain food at aid centers. The Security Council should demand that Israel retract its plan to occupy Gaza.

Pakistan’s representative, Asim Iftikhar, further stated that the Council should also call for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of hostages. He emphasized that Gaza is and will remain a part of Palestine, and Pakistan will continue to support the rights of Palestinians.
