Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar holds meeting with his Egyptian counterpart at UN, New York
NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar on Monday held a meeting with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Dr Badr Abdelatty on the sidelines of an international conference on Two-State Solution at the UN headquarters.
According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office spokesperson, both leaders emphasised the importance of enhancing cooperation in various fields including foreign affairs, defence, trade, and investment.
The spokesperson added that the two sides agreed to conduct high-level exchanges in the future. The Egyptian foreign minister also congratulated Pakistan on assuming the presidency of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).
During the meeting, both leaders reaffirmed their unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their just cause.
Pakistan, Turkiye call for immediate Gaza ceasefire
Earlier, Pakistan and Turkiye underscored the urgency of unimpeded humanitarian aid for Gaza, an immediate ceasefire, and united international efforts for a just, lasting, and comprehensive peace.
The matter was discussed during a telephonic discussion between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
The two leaders strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing atrocities in Gaza and expressed grave concern over the deepening humanitarian catastrophe, including starvation, forced displacement, and loss of innocent lives.
