ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasised the need for aligning the country’s civil service with modern technology and the standards of public service being practiced internationally.
Chairing a meeting on civil service reforms in Islamabad on Friday, he said that revamping the civil service through a comprehensive and effective strategy is the government's top priority.
He said that civil service plays a key role in the effective implementation of government policies and performance of various ministries and departments.
The prime minister directed to ensure the inclusion of input from government officers and public representatives in the administrative and institutional reforms of civil service.

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal briefed the prime minister on the proposed civil service reforms.
He said that there was significant room for improvement in the current system of recruitment, promotion, training, and capacity building of government officials within the civil service structure.
The meeting was also attended by federal ministers Ahsan Iqbal, Ahad Khan Cheema, Ali Pervaiz Malik, and other relevant government officials.
