RANIPUR (Dunya News) - A 20-year-old girl who donated part of her liver to save her father has tragically passed away.

Muqaddas, a resident of Ranipur in Khairpur district, underwent a liver transplant at Gambat Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS), but she could not survive the procedure.

Her family has accused doctors of negligence, claiming that despite her deteriorating condition, doctors reassured them she would recover. However, they were informed at 2 AM to collect her body.

The grieving family buried her in Shujaabad, and her father, already unwell, has suffered further health complications after hearing of her death.

GIMS Hospital Director, Dr. Rahim Bakhsh Bhatti, stated that he was unaware of the incident but would investigate. He added that such complications occur in one out of 200 transplant cases.
