Director-General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Athar Abbas said, during last 24 hours, Security forces killed 23 terrorists while five were apprehended from Swat and Dir. According to ISPR press release security forces during search operation at Kanju engaged terrorists hiding in the nullah and killed five terrorists. Security forces engaged terrorists hideouts in area around Miana, Ahingro and Baba Ziarat. Resultantly one terrorist was killed and two were apprehended. Security forces conducted clearance operation in Meragai area, and demolished two terrorists hide outs and recovered eight rifles including 66 rounds, four pistols with 48 rounds and one binocular. Security forces consolidated their positions around Shah Dheri, during exchange of fire with terrorists, 17 terrorists were killed. Armed Lashkar conducted house to house search near white mosque of Ghaziage at Upper Dir. Security forces conducted search operation around Chakdara and apprehended three terrorists and recovered illegal FM Radio, one twelve Bore Rifle and one thirty Bore Pistol. In South Waziristan terrorists fired three Rockets from Mandan on Jandola Fort, no loss of life reported. Two trucks carrying food and relief items distributed amongst the dislocated people of Malakand. Repair work on Takhtaband Bypass is still in progress by Army Engineers. Mobile phone service is functional in Alpuri and Shangla.
