Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz) leader Iqbal Zafar Jhagra has filed a petition in Supreme Court (SC), challenging increased petrol prices in the country. The petitioner has pleaded the court to suspend the notification about hike in the prices of petroleum products and the prices should be fixed at June 30 level. Recently government has approved raise in prices of petrol by Rs 6.2 per liter, Rs 6.5 per liter on light diesel, Rs7.5 per liter on kerosene oil. However, the traders associations and other political sector highly criticized the government for increasing prices in petrol, terming it a bad news for the economy which was already facing challenges.
