IHC summons jail superintendent for not allowing PTI leadership's meeting with Imran

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad High court (IHC) on Thursday summoned the Adiala jail superintendent for not allowing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders to meet PTI founder Imran Khan.
Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan of the IHC conducted hearing on contempt of court plea moved through Khan’s lawyer Faisal Chaudhry.
Chuadhry argued that the court had issued orders earlier which were in line with the jail rules.
He went on to say that the no action was taken after the court formed a three-member lawyer commission, adding that meeting couldn’t take place that’s why he had to appear again and again.
The court asked the state counsel on the matter to which he claimed to have no update on the matter, adding that the jail superintendent could provide the details in this regard.
Later, the court adjourned hearing till Nov 12 by summoning the jail superintendent.
