Shoaib Shaheen says the entire nation will join PTI’s protest movement
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The main purpose of the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill was to stop Justice Mansoor Ali Shah to become the Chief Justice of Pakistan, claimed PTI leader Shoaib Shaheen.
Appearing on Dunya News programme ‘TONIGHT with Samar Abbas’, the PTI leader said the entire nation would join the party’s protest movement against the constitutional bill, adding the government wanted to constitute constitutional benches as per its desire and for that purpose the allies brought the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill.
“The 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill was approved in the dead of night to attack judiciary. Thousands of cases are pending in lower cases, but the government was not increasing the number of judges in these courts.
“The rulers want to appoint judges and constitute constitutional benches by their choice. After the departure of Qazi Faez Isa, we hope courts will provide us with justice.
“There is no importance of the president of Supreme Court Bar Association. All bar associations have announced launching a protest movement against the 26th Constitutional Amendment Bill,” Shoaib Shaheen said.
The PTI leader said the party would request JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman to join the PTI protest movement.
