Punjab government is taking measures adopting latest technology
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz asserted that awareness, effective planning and preparedness were required to deal with natural disasters.
Sharing her message on International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, she revealed that the Punjab government was planning to deal with emergency situations adopting the latest technology for protection of citizens.
The Punjab government was taking effective measures to mitigate risks of natural disasters.
These measures included mitigation of risks of climate change, upgradation of control rooms of relevant departments to counter natural calamities and development of PDMA on latest technology.
Punjab government had also introduced air ambulance and motorway ambulance. Maryam Nawaz vowed to ensure the safety of citizens by taking effective measures against natural disasters.
Awareness campaigns and cooperation of the community were crucial for better management of disasters, the Punjab CM stressed.
Maryam Nawaz shared her vision of providing safe and secure and sustainable to future generations by eradicating natural disasters threats.
The International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction is being observed today.
The day focuses on the role of education in protecting and empowering children for a disaster-free future.
Many disasters, often worsened by climate change, pose significant threats to the well-being of children and youth.
