QUETTA (Dunya News) – Seven labourers were shot dead in Khuda Abadan area of Panjgur, Dunya news reported here on Saturday.
All the dead labourers belonged to different areas of Punjab. They were identified as Sajid, Shafiq, Faiz, Iftikhar, Allah Wasia and Khalid.
A labourer identified as Bilal was injured in the gun attack. He was shifted to hospital in a critical condition.
According to sources, the labourers were busy working in a house when terrorists of banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) attacked the house with sophisticated weapons and killed seven labourers and fled.
Having being informed, law enforcers reached the crime scene and started investigation after sending the dead bodies to morgue for post-mortem.
With the murder of seven workers, security was ramped up in the area. A manhunt was launched for the arrest of the fleeing terrorists.
PRESIDENT CONDEMNS BRUTAL KILLING
President Asif Ali Zardari strongly condemned the brutal killing of labourers in Panjgur, Balochistan.
The president expressed deep grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the tragic incident, President Secretariat Press Wing said in a press release.
The president called for effective action against terrorist elements targeting labourers and said that targeting innocent labourers and civilians was a brutal and condemnable act.
He also expressed condolences with the families of those killed in the incident and prayed for the eternal peace of the departed souls and for the bereaved families to bear the losses with fortitude.
PM ORDERS FOR ARRESTING OUTLAWS
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned killing of labourers. The prime minister summoned a report from the chief minister and directed him of taking all possible measures to bring the culprits to book.
Expressing condolences with the bereaved families, the prime minister prayed for the eternal peace of the deceased labourers, PM Office Media Wing said in a press release.
The prime minister directed for all possible treatment of those injured in the incident.
He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Condemning the incident in the strongest words, the prime minister said that these innocent labourers and wagers had been constructing a house and such gruesome attacks on them were highly condemnable.
He also reiterated the resolve to root out all kind of terrorism from the motherland.
CM, INTERIOR MINISTER VOW TO ROOT OUT TERRORISM
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti expressed his sorrow over killing of labourers and vowed to eliminate terrorists. He directed officials concerned to arrest those miscreants involved in the incident as soon as possible.
He said the terrorist elements involved in the incident would not be forgiven. The CM prayed for the patience of the bereaved families.
Condemning the attack, Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed deep sorrow over the senseless killings, stating, "These terrorists have no religion or ethics, targeting innocent workers who travel to remote areas for a livelihood.
“The state and security forces will foil the nefarious designs of these foreign-funded anti-state elements."
Naqvi also extended his condolences to the victims' families, affirming that those responsible would face the full force of justice.
“We stand with the bereaved families during this time of grief,” he said, adding that the authorities are committed to bringing the attackers to justice.
