LHC seeks progress report from FIA in Azma Bokhari's fake video case

Court has also directed to submit NOC of FIA DG for his abroad travel
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought a progress report from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on an application of Azma Bokhari against fake video.
LHC CJ Aalia Neelum heard Azma Bokhari’s application.
During the hearing, a federal government lawyer informed the court that FIA DG was in China currently and he would return back next week.
CJ inquired about the date of FIA DG’s return. Federal counsel responded that he didn’t know about the details and would inform the court getting the information on this matter.
CJ Aalia remarked that “When an authority goes abroad, a NOC is issued. How can you stay ill-informed and not know about the return date?”
The court inquired from the federal government counsel about the progress on the report and development by the investigation officer.
The counsel responded that this target seemed easy but it was an uphill task.
CJ Aalia stated that the FIA couldn’t arrest officers but detain other people by calling them in their offices.
Azma Bokhari’s counsel informed the court that another tweet was posted from Falak Javed’s account and all the tweets had been submitted in the report.
The counsel added that Falak Javed was currently in Peshawar and she had confirmed it in the video, making FIA a fool.
But the FIA was acting ill-informed, saying they didn’t know the whereabouts of Falak Javed and she was in Rawalpindi last time.
LHC CJ directed to submit NOC of FIA DG in the next hearing. The court adjourned the case hearing until September 30 seeking a progress report from the FIA.
SOCIAL MEDIA MISUSE MUST BE BANNED
During her appearance in the court hearing, Azma Bokhari called for banning misuse of social media.
She recalled her photograph which she said, was taken in London, without her consent, adding that objectionable tweets were shared as well.
It is pertinent to note that in the last hearing of this case, the LHC summoned FIA DG to appear in today's hearing but he can't appear as he is in China.
