Azam Swati's bail confirmed in two cases registered under PECA

Judge Afzal Majoka confirmed the bail against 0.5 million surety bonds each
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Islamabad’s District and Session court has accepted the bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Swati in two cases registered under Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
Additional and Session Judge Afzal Majoka heard the bail application of Azam Swati against two cases registered under PECA for controversial tweets.
Azam Swati along with his lawyer Ali Bukhari appeared before the court.
Lawyer informed the court that Azam Swati was arrested on November, 27, 2022 and remained on 4-day physical remand.
Azam Swati couldn’t appear before the court and the court dismissed the bail, lawyer added.
Consequently, district and session court’s Additional and Session Judge Afzal Majoka confirmed the bail of Azam Swati in two cases against surety bonds of 0.5 million each.
It is pertinent to note that Azam Swati was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on November 2022 for controversial tweets against state institutions and officials.
