LAHORE (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Planning, Development, Reforms and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal on Monday said that government is taking all possible measures regarding security in the country and added that the army will provide direct security to the Chinese workers.

Talking in Dunya News programme ‘Dunya Kamran Khan Ke Saath’, Ahsan Iqbal said that the motive behind the recent terrorist incidents in Pakistan is to block the path of CPEC. He said that China is very clear that such incidents cannot spoil our relations. He said that the Chinese leadership is also aware that foreign elements are involved in these incidents.

Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal further said that he has informed the Chinese leadership about the progress of the investigation of the recent terrorist incidents. He informed that a foreign firm wanted to build a hotel in Swat, but tourist’s lynching incident in Madyan. The same is true in Jaranwala, Sialkot and Sargodha incidents. “The incidents of terrorism in the name of religion have nothing to do with Islam. We have to show the peaceful face of Islam to the world,” he said.

He has said that CPEC was fully implemented from 2013 to 2018, the change of 2018 reversed and scandalized our plans and there was no progress on the Special Economic Zone in these four years. He said that continuity and stability of the policy was very important for the country.

Ahsan Iqbal further said that China has confirmed five corridors for phase two. He said that Chinese experts are coming to provide help for establishment of Special Economic Zones.

He said that China will also help us to increase agricultural production and we will benefit from the experience of Chinese experts in agriculture. He further said that a delegation of Chinese experts is coming to Pakistan soon.
