Several areas of Lahore plunge into darkness as fire erupts at 220KV grid station

LAHORE (Dunya News) - The National Transmission and Despatch Company’s 220KV grid station located on Bund Road caught fire on Sunday night, causing disruption of power supply to several areas of the city, Dunya News reported. 

According to details, a fire broke out in the 220KV grid station on Bund Road after a power transformer caught fire, causing suspension of power supply to many LESCO feeders. 

Several localities of Lahore, including Sabzazar, Allama Iqbal Town, Shahpur, Qartaba Chowk, McLeod Road, Syedpur and Islampura plunged into darkness after the blaze. 

Fire brigade personnel reached the spot after being informed and started operation to bring the fire under control with the help of NTDC officials. However, they were unable to extinguish the fire till filing of this report.
