AC judge Muhammad Bashir submits leave request again, citing health reasons
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Accountability Court judge Muhammad Bashir has once again submitted a request for leave till retirement, citing health reasons, Dunya News has reported.
Reports indicate that judge Bashir suffers from severe hypertension and has submitted the leave request for the second time.
He had previously requested a leave on Jan 27 till retirement. However, his request was turned down by the Ministry of Law and Justice after which he withdrew his leave application.
The accountability judge is set to retire from service on March 14 after completing his tenure.
On Jan 31, the accountability judge convicted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder and his wife Bushra Bibi in the Toshakhana case.
The judge, who conducted the hearings at the Adiala Jail, sentenced the couple to 14-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a 10-year ban on them for vying for any public office in any capacity.
It may be mentioned that the same judge had also sentenced former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and his daughter Maryam Nawaz in the Avenfield reference case.
