Bilawal points finger at Nawaz Sharif for country’s economic woes
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari asserted in an interview with Dunya News on Monday that he can prove that the current poverty and unemployment in the country are due to Nawaz Sharif, not Shehbaz Sharif.
According to Bilawal, Shehbaz Sharif delayed the agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) because of Nawaz Sharif.
He claimed that Shehbaz Sharif had the opportunity to fix Pakistan's economy, but he was not free from Mian Sahib, as every file had to be approved [by Mian Sahib] in London.
Responding to a question, Bilawal suggested the possibility of Nawaz Sharif becoming the prime minister for the fourth time, but also hinted at a potential surprise from the voters on Feb 8. However, he acknowledged that both Nawaz Sharif and his party were indicating that he had already become the prime minister for the fourth time.
He asserted that the majority of Pakistanis did not want to see Nawaz Sharif [in the role of prime minister].

Bilawal expressed optimism about PPP's chances of forming the next government, noting an increased number of independent candidates in this election compared to the past. He further said that he would release all political prisoners upon assuming power.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the PPP, Bilawal mentioned the assassinations of former prime ministers Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto, and violence meted out to former president Asif Ali Zardari.
He also recalled speaking in favour of PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz when she was arrested, accentuating his party's endurance in the face of adversity.
Bilawal stated that his efforts aimed to move away from old politics and politicians, and urged the people of Pakistan to choose a new mindset.
He acknowledged instances of fraud in past elections, saying his party faced rigging by its opponents in every election. He also asserted that whoever became the prime minister in this election would be acceptable to him.

Critiquing the founder of PTI, Bilawal claimed that during his tenure, facilities for prisoners were reduced. He credited former president Asif Zardari for avoiding politics of revenge upon coming to power.
Expressing a desire to end the politics of hatred and division, Bilawal accused the founder of PTI and Nawaz Sharif of turning politics into personal enmity. He underscored the need for politicians to stay within the boundaries of politics.
When asked about working with Nawaz Sharif, Bilawal replied that it would be very difficult for him. He cited differences in intentions, stating that when he joined the PDM government, his focus was on doing something for the country, while Nawaz Sharif's desire was to become the prime minister for the fourth time.

Bilawal outlined his plans for a PPP government, including closing ministries, ending subsidies for the elite, and utilising funds for the Youth Card. He laid emphasis on the Youth Card as a means to provide assistance to deserving youth for skill development and opportunities.

Bilawal mentioned the historical request to shut down the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during Nawaz Sharif's government, but added that this request had been turned down.
Bilawal highlighted PPP's sacrifices for democracy, and said his opponents were eager to achieve the same status through mere symbolic actions.
