LAHORE (Dunya News) - Four major projects are set to open for traffic this month for the welfare of the city's residents.

These projects include the Baidiyan Road Underpass, Akbar Chowk Flyover, Shahdara Flyover, and Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass. Despite the challenges, the entire team and contractors have been working tirelessly to complete them ahead of schedule.

The Akbar Chowk flyover, initially planned for a 10-month timeframe, is now expected to be finished in just 6 months.

The Baidiyan Road Underpass project, originally scheduled for 6 months, will be completed in only 2.5 months, starting construction on August 26. Its contract completion date is February 26 next year.

Similarly, the Khalid Butt Chowk Underpass, which had a 6-month timeline, will be done in approximately 2 months. Construction began officially on September 14, with a contract completion date of March 10 next year.

Remarkably, despite record rainfall this year, these projects are being finalised ahead of schedule, promising substantial improvements in traffic flow at key points in the city. This will not only benefit local commuters but also result in significant fuel and time savings, amounting to millions of rupees.
