Pakistan
The new price will be applicable from Nov 1
ISLAMABAD (News Desk) – PPP Vice President Sherry Rehman on Tuesday opposed gas price hike.
She said exorbitant increase in the prices of Sui gas at a time when the people were facing the worst inflation was condemnable and unjustifiable.
The interim government has given approval to increase the gas prices and the decision will be implemented from Nov 1.
The government statement said around 57 per cent of the consumers would be considered in the protected category for which the prices had not been increased and they would pay Rs400 fixed price.
However, the consumers using from 0.25 to 1.5 hectare cubic meters gas would be paying Rs1,000 per month and the consumers of two to four HC and above would be paying a fixed charge of Rs2,000 per month.
