LHC orders DC to take a swift decision on PTI plea for Liberty rally

PTI had approached LHC for permission to hold rally
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court on Thursday ordered deputy commissioner to take a decision till tomorrow on a plea filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Liberty Chowk on October 15.
LHC justice Raheel Kamran conducted hearing of the PTI plea requesting for permission to hold a rally at Liberty Chowk. During the proceedings, court inquired from the Punjab government about the issue and asked why the permission had not been granted so far.
Justice Raheel Kamran, while issuing direction to the deputy commissioner to take any decision on the plea till tomorrow (Friday), ordered the DC to inform the court about his decision. In case of refusing the PTI to hold a rally, the court directed, the DC will have to elaborate the reasons behind that refusal.
It merits mentioning here that additional secrtary PTI central Punjab had approached the Lahore High Court on issue pertaining to party’s rally at Liberty Chowk.
The petitioner stated that he had submitted an application to the deputy commissioner for a permission to hold party’s rally on Oct 15. However the DC had not taken any decision on the application so far. The petitioner prayed to the court that his party should be allowed to hold rally at Liberty Chowk.
