Elahi contended that the NAB issued warrants of his arrest illegally and arrested him

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday adjourned hearing of former chief minister and PTI leader Parvez Elahi petition against his arrest by the NAB (National Accountability Bureau) for a month.

The LHC adjourned hearing due to absence of Elahi’s lawyer Amir Saeed.

The former chief minister, in his plea, made inspector general of Punjab police, NAB, FIA and other party to the dispute.

Elahi contended that the NAB issued warrants of his arrest illegally and arrested him. The NAB unlawfully upgraded inquiry against him to investigation. It did not issue a call up notice nor it gave him chance to file his reply, the petitioner added.

The septuagenarian Elahi prayed the high court to declare his arrest void and bar authorities from arresting him in cases registered clandestinely against him.
