Ali Wazir moves IHC for dismissal of terrorism case against him

Court issues notices to interior secretary, IG Islamabad police

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court, on a petition filed by former member National Assembly Ali Wazir for dismissal of a terrorism case against him, on Wednesday issued notices to parties including interior secretary and inspector general of Islamabad police.

Islamabad High Court judge Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb conducted hearing of the petition filed by Ali Wazir. Ataullah Kundi appear in court on behalf of petitioner.

As the proceedings started, petitioner lawyer Kundi said a terrorism case was registered against his client just 15 minutes after registration of another case. Kundi, while referring to the Sughra Bibi case, appealed to the court to dismiss the case against Ali Wazir as illegal.

Later on, the IHC, while issuing notices to parties concerned, adjourned hearing of the case till next week.

Earlier, former member National Assembly (MNA) Ali Wazir was released from Adiala jail after securing bail in the sedition and terror cases. As many as four FIRs were earlier lodged against Ali Wazir in two police stations of Islamabad. Two FIRs were registered in the Tarnol police station and one FIR was registered in the Bara Kahu police station. Moreover, a case against Wazir was registered by the FIA.
