30 government institutions fail to pay water bills, say officials
KARACHI (Dunya News) - The Karachi Water Corporation has devised an extensive strategy to recover a staggering amount of Rs51 billion.
The initial step involves the appointment of new professionals to head the Revenue and Recovery Department, along with collection of outstanding dues from provincial and federal organisations.
To initiate the recovery process, a final notifications will be issued and it will be followed by the possible disconnection of services.
Water Corporation officials express concern that more than 30 prominent government institutions fail to settle their water bills despite consuming the resource for several months.
Consequently, the first phase aims to take strict action against the federal institutions showing resistance to pay their dues.
