KARACHI (Web Desk) - A terrorist was arrested by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) from Karachi airport. The terrorist was involved in many terror activities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK).
According to media reports, Ehsan-ul-Haq was associated with the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and was planning to flee from the country.
The Immigration Cell of FIA thwarted his attempt to leave the country as he was arrested from the airport.
According to FIA’s Immigration Cell, the home department of KP government had announced Rs1 million bounty on Swabi based Ehsan-ul-Haq.
The terrorist would be handed over to the concerned law enforcement agencies.
The terrorist’s arrest is being considered a major breakthrough in the wake of surge in terror activities in KP in the recent months.
As per the report issued by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies (PICSS), July became the second deadliest month of 2023 with 124 fatalities and 218 injuries.
The report added that 54 terror attacks were witnessed in the country during this month.
Among the deceased, 77 were civilians while 37 security forces’ officials also lost their lives. As many as 181 civilians and 36 personnel of security forces also sustained injuries.
