PTI chairman spent part of night sleeping and got up for tahajjud prayer
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Punjab Home Department on Sunday approved B class in Attock Jail for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf chairman.
According to the prison sources, PTI chairman has been given all the facilities under B class and kept in Barrack No 3 under B class in the jail.
The PTI chairman is allowed to have his family in the jail one day a week.
The PTI chief spent the first night in the high security barracks of Attock jail and was given dinner and breakfast according to the prison manual.
The former prime minister was given a slice of bread, fried and boiled egg for breakfast along with butter and tea after Fajr prayer.
The jail sources said the PTI chairman spent part of the night sleeping and got up for tahajud prayer and after performing Fajr prayer, he had breakfast provided by the jail.
“Towel, tissue paper, mineral water, glasses, tasbih, watch, chair, mats for sleeping on the ground were also provided,” the sources said, adding ex-prime minister Nawaz Sharif and other political figures had also been imprisoned in the district jail in the past.
According to prison sources, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was kept in a better class during his imprisonment, in which TV, newspaper, books for writing and reading, stationery, air condition or room cooler, small fridge, bed and laborers are allowed. These facilities for the PTI chief are subject to the permission of the Home Department or the court.
The sources further said security was on high alert inside and outside the Attock jail and the barracks in which the PTI chairman was imprisoned were surrounded by commandos of the Prisons Department and prison police personnel outside.
District police and Rangers were also patrolling the area, the sources added.
