ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan has expressed heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Georgia over loss of lives in the devastating landslide in Shovi town.
In a statement on Saturday, the Foreign Office said Pakistan wishes a speedy recovery to all those affected by the landslide and prays for safe return of the missing.
A landslide struck the resort in the Racha region, known for its mineral water, on Thursday.Drone footage of the landslide showed mud, tree trunks and other debris partly covering the lush green valley.
According to Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, dozens of people were still missing. The Interior Ministry said rescue operations were proceeding.
