PM briefed on security situation after Bajaur blast
PESHAWAR (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir on Tuesday visited Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Peshawar to inquire after the injured in the Bajaur blast.
Peshawar Corps Commander welcomed the PM and COAS on their arrival in Peshawar.
The PM asked the authorities to provide the best possible treatment facilities to the injured until their full recovery and he also assured the families of those affected in the blast saying that the nation stands with them in the hour of grief.
The chief executive further said the security forces and law enforcement agencies, with the support of the nation, would ensure that those responsible for the cowardly attacks are brought to justice soon. Concrete steps should be taken to prevent it from being used for terrorism in other countries, he added.
Meanwhile, the PM was also briefed on the overall security situation of the province while he was informed about the Bajaur suicide blast with a specific focus on the progress made so far in the probe of incident.
He expressed concern over the involvement of Afghan citizens in suicide bombings who were planning cowardly attacks on citizens from across the border.
