Army, Rangers to be deployed to maintain peace
LAHORE (Dunya News) - Besides deputing army and Rangers in Punjab's 13 sensitive districts during Muharram, the mobile phone services will remain suspended on 9th and 10th of Muharram, says the Punjab Home Department.
The military will be deputed in these sensitive districts - Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Jhang, Bhakkar, Layyah, Multan, Sahiwal, Chakwal, Rajanpur, Bahawalpur and Rahim Yar Khan.
Mobile phone services will remain suspended in these districts on the 9th and 10th of Muharram.
The home department has corresponded with the federal government for the deployment of 73 army and 80 Rangers companies.
Moreover, the district control rooms have been established in sensitive districts, which will be connected with the provincial intelligence joint centre.
