IPP requests ECP to allocate 'eagle' as party's election symbol

LAHORE (Dunya News) – The Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) on Tuesday submitted an application to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) for registration of the party.

The IPP had requested the electoral watchdog to allocate "Eagle" as the party's election symbol.

The party submitted a copy of the manifesto's details with the application and named Jahangir Khan Tareen as the party's chairman.

Separately, former Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah today joined the IPP.

Zulfiqar Ali Shah called on IPP patron-in-chief Jahangir Khan Tareen. On this occasion, Zulfiqar made the decision to join the IPP.

Zulfiqar, who had previously held the position of Chiniot Tehsil Nazim, expressed his complete trust in Jahangir Tareen's ability to lead the IPP.

During the meeting, Jahangir Tareen said: "I welcome Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah to the IPP. The IPP is working for the sake of the national interests. We have entered the political arena to guide the country towards growth and prosperity".
