Yesterday, the additional session’s judge had ordered the PTI chief to ensure his appearance
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The additional sessions court accepted the request of exemption from appearance of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman on Friday in the Toshakhana case.
On Thursday, the additional sessions judge of Islamabad had ordered the PTI chairman to ensure his appearance. Advocate Gohar Ali Khan appeared in the court on behalf of the PTI chief while Amjad Parvez represented the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Advocate Gohar filed a request for exemption from appearance of the PTI chief, on which Advocate Amjad objected saying that party was wasting time as four lawyers have been representing the ex-premier.
He said that the ECP lawyer was doing point scoring as Khawaja Haris was a senior lawyer.
He requested to adjourn the hearing till July 10, on which the ECP lawyer said that the PTI was using delaying tactics. The PTI lawyers did not want to argue the case. Khawaja Haris has no court engagements today, he added.
However, the court granted the request of PTI Chairman and adjourned the hearing till July 8 with a direction to Khawaja Haris to appear before the court tomorrow (July 8).
