PM Shehbaz orders inquiry into Lahore flooding

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif Tuesday arrived in Lahore after completing his tour to France and London.
After reaching Lahore, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif would consult the legal team to discuss the situation regarding Nawaz Sharif's disqualification in the wake of the new legislation.
He will also hold consultative meetings with senior party leaders to discuss the political situation of the country.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a meeting regarding difficulties faced by the citizens after downpour in Lahore.
Punjab chief secretary, officers of the LWMC, WASA and Lahore Commissioner also attended the meeting at Model Town. The babus briefed the prime minister on waterlogging and urban flooding in Lahore due to heavy rain.
The prime minister ordered the probe into the matter and sought a detailed report from the concerned department.
A briefing was also given on the security and cleanliness campaign for Eidul Azha. The prime minister directed the concerned officers to remain vigilant during Eid days.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had left for France at the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron. During his visit, he participated in the New Global Financing Pact Summit being held in Paris.
Later, he went to London to attend his ailing brother and former PM Nawaz Sharif.
