Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood will administer oath to new cabinet members

MUZAFFARABAD (Dunya News) – Newly-sworn Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq has decided to expand his cabinet and the new cabinet ministers will take oath today.

Sources said that newly-appointed ministers will take oath today at 3:00 pm. As many as 27 assembly members will take oath as minister of state. Azad Kashmir President Barrister Sultan Mehmood Chaudhry will administer oath to new cabinet members.

Sources added that members elected on reserved seats will be appointed as advisors and special assistants. Members of Anwaarul Haq group, People’s Party and PML-N will be included in the cabinet.

Earlier on Saturday, sources had said that cabinet members could take oath in a day. They added that the 15th amendment would empower the PM to expand his cabinet. “The number of cabinet members was limited to 16 in the thirteenth amendment,” sources added.

The PM decided to include more than 25 members to the cabinet, sources said, adding that the cabinet could also include four advisors. “The members belonging to the PML-N and the PPP will be included,” sources added.
