Firefighters struggle to control Astore forest blaze

According to initial estimates around 3,000 trees have been burnt by the fire

ASTORE (Dunya News) – Firefighters are struggling to put out major fire that erupted in the Astore forests of Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday night.   

The fire has already burned thousands of trees covering vast stretches of land.

Sources told Dunya News that major fire in the forest of Astore district in Gilgit Baltistan have set ablaze around 3,000 trees. The locals are extinguishing the fire on their own as the fire is getting intensified by every passing moment.

However, the authorities are yet clueless about the origin of fire that was it either natural or an act of arson. The fire has sent shock and terror waves in the area and resident seems concerned about their surroundings.
