Justice Babar Sattar hears case
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday asked Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Usman Anwar to submit answers to the five questions of the court about audio leaks.
Justice Babar Sattar sought answers while hearing a case of Najam Saqib, son of a former chief justice of Pakistan, about a committee formed by the National Assembly (NA) speaker for looking into the audio clips.
Amicus curiae Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan was also present in court.
During the hearing, the AGP said the matter was under the Supreme Court. He told the bench to wait for the answers to the questions being debated in the apex court.
Sardar Latif Khosa, who represented the petitioner, argued that the audio leak issue concerned the fundamental rights of 25 million Pakistanis. He said the government should have consulted the CJP on the matter.
Justice Babar Sattar asked the AGP as how much time would he take to answer the questions. He gave the AGP four weeks to file the answers.
