LAHORE (Dunya News) – An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Wednesday ordered Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activist Khadija Shah to be placed on a seven-day identification parade with police.
The decision was made during a court hearing held in connection with the arson and Jinnah House attack that occurred on May 9.
Khadija Shah, who is the daughter of former adviser on finance Salman Shah and the granddaughter of former Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Asif Nawaz Janjua, was brought before the court with her face covered. However, she was permitted to meet her husband in the courtroom during the proceedings.
Justice Abhar Gul, presiding over the ATC, considered the plea made by police to send the suspect on an identification parade to jail. The police informed the court that the investigation officer assigned to Khadija Shah's case was occupied with proceedings in the high court.
Consequently, the ATC ruled in favour of the police's request and ordered Khadija Shah to undergo a seven-day identification parade in the custody of the police. The court also directed the police to present Ms Shah before the court on May 30, following the completion of the identification parade.
It should be noted that Khadija Shah surrendered herself to police on Tuesday over her alleged involvement in the aforementioned incidents.
