Fieldwork was halted for five days due to Eid holidays
LAHORE (Dunya News) - The final phase of field operations for the country's first digital census in history will begin on Wednesday.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, 116,034,900 individuals have been registered in Punjab and 528,578,53 in Sindh.
The total population registered in the country is 235,388,000. The counting in 19 districts, including Islamabad and Rawalpindi, has not been completed yet. The census work is also pending in Karachi, Hyderabad, and Quetta.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, more than 39.2 million people have been counted, and in Balochistan, 19,255,648 individuals have been counted.
According to the Bureau, more than 11.5 million individuals have been counted in Lahore, and the census is likely to be completed by April 30. Due to Eidul Fitr holidays, fieldwork was halted for five days.
