Khawaja Tariq Rahim challenges the government to initiate legal action against him
LAHORE (Dunya News) - In a recent statement by Khawaja Tariq Rahim, he challenged the government's warning of legal action against him.
In a talk show on Dunya News, Mr Rahim clarified that he was not a lawyer in an election case that was currently being heard by a three-member bench.
He also revealed that he had spoken to Justice ® Saqib Nisar regarding the law, and only one part of the conversation was leaked.
Responding to the government's warning, Khawaja Tariq Rahim stated, "If you have the courage, then take action, and I will also tell you what the law says, and I will legally beat you."
He accused the government of violating the law by tapping his phone and announced that he would send legal notices to the ministry of interior and the ministry of law.
During the talk show, Mr Rahim claimed that he had never taken part in politics and revealed that the daughter of Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Ata Bandial was married to a Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) member of the National Assembly (MNA).
He also accused the PML-N of using tactics to escape elections.
Mr Rahim cited the tapping of the phones of judges as the reason behind the ousting of Benazir Bhutto's first government.
