Former Lahore police chief Ghulam Mahmood Dogar retires from service

The federal government had transferred and suspended Mr Dogar

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Former Capital City Police Officer Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar reached the age of superannuation on Sunday.

Mr Dogar remained controversial during his last field posting owing to his alleged political role in the PTI government.

The federal government had transferred and suspended Mr Dogar, but he didn't leave the posting after obtaining the court orders. He was later restored by the court was placed at the services of the Establishment Division of the federal government. 

The senior police officer also faced a lot of criticism for filing a case against federal ministers.

Sources told Dunya News that Additional IG Dogar was removed from the post of the CCPO Lahore by the caretaker government.

He also remained the head of the JIT formed to investigate the assassination attempt on PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan.
