Says most of the people demanding resignation are running away from courts themselves
LAHORE (Dunya News) -- PTI president Parvez Elahi on Saturday battered the coalition partners for demanding the resignation of Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial.
Talking to ex-federal ministers and provincial assembly members in the provincial capital, he said the federal government should look into their own actions before demanding resignation of the Chief Justice. Instead, he asked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to resign.
Elahi questioned if the CJ is upholding the constitution why should he resign?. He continued to censure the government by saying that most of the people demanding CJ’s resignation are "fugitives".
The former Punjab chief minister said the Supreme Court has ordered for holding elections in two provinces after deep observation of the situation and current status of departments.
"Shehbaz Sharif should stop distorting the image of institutions," the PTI leader said.
