PTI lawmakers demand resignation withdrawal from NA

PTI's Aamir Dogar's delegate visits speaker NA to discuss the withdrawal of their resignations.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmakers met the speaker of the National Assembly Raja Parvaiz Ashraf on Monday in a meeting headed by Aamir Dogar to discuss the acceptance of the resignations by PTI members.

The PTI delegate expressed their wish to withdraw their resignations, to which the speaker responded by saying that according to the law and constitution, the resignations were approved, though he did dispatch several letters, PTI lawmakers did not show up. After the delegate headed by Asad Qaiser and Aamir Dogar visited, the approval of the resignations was given.

Raja Parvaiz Ashraf said, “The resignations were approved after the delegate headed by Asad Qaiser requested.” He questioned, “Did PTI members give their resignations without their will?”
The speaker while taking in PTI’s request to withdraw their resignations said that after consultation with the legal team, they would be informed.

Prior to the meeting, while talking to the media, PTI lawmaker Aamir Dogar said, “They will meet the speaker to discuss the opposition leadership and the appointment of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman." He added, "Lahore High Court (LHC) released 70 members of PTI and they demand that the opposition leader should be appointed from the opposition party in the majority. Also, as per the law, Chairman NAB should be appointed after consultation with the opposition leader.”
