KARACHI (Dunya News) - Minister of Labor and Manpower Sindh and President Pakistan People s Party Karachi Division Saeed Ghani on Sunday had asked the Election Commission to announce results of the local government election in Karachi without any delay.
Talking to media on late Sunday night, Saeed Ghani said that delay in result announcement is causing anxiety among the candidates while it will also make the entire election process controversial.
According to unofficial and unconfirmed results announced so far, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has taken lead in the seven districts of Karachi, followed by Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is at third spot.
According to election results of 81 out of 246 union councils of Karachi, Pakistan People’s Party has secured 46 seats. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) is second with 21 seats while Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf is third with 13 seats. One seat has been won by an independent candidate.
