Fawad warns of anarchy as LG polls in Karachi, Hyderabad delayed again
LAHORE (Dunys News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry warned on Friday that anarchy could spark in the country if the constitutional orders of courts are not implemented.
His reaction comes as the Sindh government announced postponement of local body elections in Karachi divisions, and districts of Hyderabad and Dadu citing reservations of Mutahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) on delimitation and flood water.
Earlier, the federal government ignored the court order for holding LG polls in Islamabad and now the ruling of the Sindh High Court (SHC) had been tossed in the air, the former information minister said.
Referring to Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Memon’s last night press conference, Mr Chaudhry said courts were threated in the PPP presser. He warned that there would be anarchy if orders of the courts were not honoured.
On Thursday night, the Sindh government announced its decision to delay local body elections in Karachi division, Hyderabad and Dadu due to MQM-P’s reservations and flood water.
Sindh Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the cabinet meeting was held for several hours under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah in which the LG polls, which are set to be held on Jan 15, were discussed and decided to delay the polls.
