Sindh LG polls: ECP issues notice to JI’s Hafiz Naeem over code of conduct violation
KARACHI (Dunya News) – The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday issued notice to Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) candidate for Karachi Mayor position Hafiz Naeemur Rehman over violation of code of conduct during the local government elections in the metropolis.
The commission has also issued notice to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) central district president Masroor Ahsan over violation of the Election Act.
The notice directed Hafiz Naeemur Rehman and and Masroor Ahsan to appear before the DMO on Jan 11. DMO Naveed Aziz stated in the notice that despite ban, the JI leader headed the rally on Jan 8, while PPP central district also organised a rally despite prior notice.
