Pakistan Army officer files defamation case against Adil Raja in UK court

LAHORE (Web Desk) – In what is being described as an unprecedented action, a serving officer of the Pakistan Army has filed a defamation case in a Britain court against former military man retired Maj Adil Farooq Raja "for hurling baseless allegations against him". 

The ex-serviceman-turned-Youtuber in multiple vlogs and posts shared on Youtube and Twitter accused the army officer of electoral rigging and horse-trading against the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). 

Mr Raja, who runs a Youtube and Twitter pages with the username of @soldierspeaks, also claimed that the senior intelligence officer had held secret meetings with PPP co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari to manipulate by-elections in Punjab. 

Reports said the serving army officer filed the defamation case against Mr Raja who has been living in self-imposed exile in London since April 2022, in the London High Court in August last. The officer has denied the allegations and sought action against the Youtuber. 

Recently, Mr Raja was slammed widely after he shared a vlog about alleged relationship between the former top military officers and celebrities of the Pakistani showbiz industry.
